Since the beginning, humanity has faced a fundamental choice between two ways of living: one sourced in God and one sourced in self. The Tree of Life represents a life of grace, faith, and dependence on God, while the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil represents self-reliance and the belief that we must earn what only God can freely give. Many of the patterns of bondage we experience, including anxiety, self-protection, and performance-driven faith, are the fruit of reaching for what God never intended us to carry. The enemy works to pull us away from God through doubt, distortion of His Word, and the lie that He is withholding something good from us. But Jesus is the Tree of Life, and He invites us into a life of abundance through dependence on Him.
